Mostly agree, this cannot be site for SLAS policy decisions. Too often it gets used that way. For example the possible movie at SPOC, this should be brought before membership, not just those on this board. It's not that I would discourage discussion but all SLAS members are not here and therefore are excluded from the discussion.
