Ann, you've described a mid-sized Dobsonian, say 8" to 12.5" aperture. The refractor is too small to provide much "wow" factor on the faint fuzzies. On a small equatorial mount with motor drives though, you will really appreciate it on the planets & brighter comets, double stars, moon & sun, and the brightest of the d-s objects.
