I'd like to go on record as supporting an alternative to the Wedge, Wolf Creek and Pit 'n Pole. Call it Pit 'n Pole East. It's close to Pit 'n Pole, which is great for the Provo-Orem area astronomers, but more less convenient for SLC residents. Just drive south of Vernon for a few miles, find a turn-off, and set up. It's surprisingly dark. I was pleased with its closeness (approx. 70 mi.) and the coyote serenades. I admit the Wedge, which I've dearly loved for many years, and Wolf Creek, both have better seeing and darkness. But so many dirt bikers careen around the Wedge and it's so far away, that I am discouraged with it. Wolf Creek is great for hardier souls than me -- but I hate the cold. -- Joe
