Coming back from Bryce this morning I received a CalSky alert putting the possibility of an aurora at a 7 on a 0 to 9 scale. I was a bit north of Fillmore at the time and I could see a glow to the north but I'm pretty sure it was just the usual light pollution from the SL Valley. Ah, but I did get one small treat, as I was approaching Provo I saw ISS moving stately across the sky. I got home about three and after opening the observatory I took a few minutes to concentrate on the northern sky. Alas, no aurora. Did anyone here see the aurora? patrick On 06 Jun 2013, at 22:07, Jared Smith wrote:
Conditions are prime for aurora tonight - no moon, relatively clear skies, and the solar storms are raging. The OVATION forecast currently shows visibility well South of the Canada border - http://helios.swpc.noaa.gov/ovation/
I'm setting an alarm - I missed the show last week.
And I just noticed a nice ISS pass to the North just before 2am. I'm sensing a sweet photo op.
