Joe, Monster Dob - you know, 72-inch+ category. ;-) Seriously, do focal reducers only work for photography or will they also work with visual equipment? You use your reducer for photographic work only, right? No doubt you would get a wider field with a reducer, but I think an 8" has a fairly wide field. I use a reducer on my 12". Now please correct me, someone, if I'm wrong. -- Joe ________________________________ From: Kim Hyatt <kimharch@cut.net> To: 'Utah Astronomy' <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 1, 2011 6:10 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Celestron Orange 8" on ksl.com for monthsandmonths Do ya'll know if a focal reducer would work visually for a wider field with a scope such as this C8? Can something like this work for a finder for a monster Dob? When He said leg and crack in the same sentence that was my first thought. He did make it seem like more of a leg issue than a fork issue to me. I also thought I saw the "Moss" but realized in a minute that it was a reflection of a tree.
