I just checked the IMO site and it looks like the peak is from about 1800 to 2100 on the 12th. Isn't that around noon for us, on the 12th? So we may miss the actual peak by 12 hours, either side of peak? Somebody check my math, I'm going to lunch. http://www.imo.net/files/data/calendar/cal2013.pdf On Tue, Jul 30, 2013 at 10:49 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
John, S&T is reporting the peak will be on the morning of the 12th, not the evening. So, the night of the 11th if S&T is to be trusted. I haven't checked the IMO predictions, however.

Chuck,
Isn't the best night for Persieds supposed to be Monday the 12th? (I'm not an experienced enough meteor watcher to know how spread out the Persieds are.) My wife and I had intended to be in rural S. Utah on that evening, but plans are fluid at this point.
