[Utah-astronomy] Star of the Orient

Aloha I was watching a program yesterday about 'traders' that included the Taureg of N. Africa. An old trader said he used the 'Star of the Orient' as his guide, I looked at the Googled lists but nothing is named that way. anyone know what star that might be?? The Star of the Orient ???? Aloha Rob
