I saw HD video of impact site. The 1st was the hole with the "meteor" producing 4-5 ft flames.
Then the aftermath a big hole (investigators say dug with shovels) and smaller hole with charred remains from whatever they used to make the fire. Pretty clearly a hoax. There's a post on the Minor Planet Mailing List indicating it was a
publicity stunt.

Maybe they should test the material before jumping to conclusions. The "Hoaxers" did a great job on the crater in my opinion. Looks very plausible.
It may be rare for rocks that big to hit...doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Be interesting to see if they later determine it was not a hoax lol.
