Channel 5 had it on. The Tooele County board members who were interviewed seem to be excited about moving forward with the plans for the track. There was some local opposition from some of the area residence but I don't think these folks, who in truth, probably moved to Grantsville to get away from crowds, have a prayer. It sounds like it is pretty well set in stone. They said they hope to have the track up and running by fall 2005. Look at the bright side (no pun intended). At least with all of the experience gained from holding star parties under the bright parking lot lights at Harmons, finding some of the brighter night time objects like the Moon and Jupiter should be a breeze... What is planned makes the current track look puny, and is really intended for a different style/scale of racing. This thing has been concieved as two full-sized tracks that can be linked into a "super track" for grand-prix style racing. It will be lit like south State Street in Murray, along "auto row", and about the same acreage; that is, square miles. I'm guessing there will also be endurance races lasting through the night. And as Guy pointed out, endless traffic. :(
