The AAVSO reported a new galatic nova - AAVSO 1811-30N Sgr 05#2 - that currently is last reported on July 7 (J.D. 3559) bewteen mags 8.1 - 8.4. The nova is located between del and gam Sgr, the top of the spout of Sgr. Like Comet 9P, this nova low to the horizon around midnight and may suffer from high extinction at our 41N latitude. But this nova is bright enough to warrant taking a look see.
