Not a bad event. No surprises that turnout at the museum for SLAS's eclipse watch was not what it was for the Venus transit but even so the museum estimated attendance at over 500. There were clouds but not so thick that we could not see the Sun. Even in Ha the prominences were plainly visible. On the plus side if it had been completely clear we'd of all gotten sunburned. :) Lots of fun public. And the museum even fed the volunteers. Here's a shot I took right at maximum eclipse showing those on the lower level (anyone happen to get pictures on the upper level?): http://slas.us/slasbooks/eclipsewatch.jpg Looking forward to 2017, patrick On 20 Oct 2014, at 23:17, CJ Cottrill <cjcottrill@gmail.com> wrote:
I'm surprised that there hasn't been any discussion of the partial eclipse this Thursday. I know I haven't been much of a contributor lately, but I actually found out about this through social media. I'm planning to be at Arches on the day of, anyone else doing anything interesting?
