I was able to observe Mercury until about 4:55, when the Sun became a bit obscured by distant trees. At sunset, the only detail I could really make out was the large sunspot others have noted, but not Mercury, due to the trees. Nice event. Glad the weather cooperated. I can just see some clouds to the north, creeping over the horizon from Utah Valley. Otherwise, the sky is still exceptional here. Guess I'll have to leave the scope up and observe some "winter sky" objects while it's so warm. Kim
