The sunspot is definitely visible with the naked-eye. I used Baader filter material, over both eyes, and my eyeglasses. With the sun near the meridian, the spot is just past the 9 o'clock position on the solar disk. As afternoon wears on, it should rotate towards the 12 o'clock position.
