I hate the Media!! I find it annoying that this case is being described as bizarre, out of the ordinary, and so forth. The reality is that these kinds of things happen on a daily basis. The only difference is the people involved are never NASA Astronauts. The thing to remember is that they are still people. Clearly, Capt. Nowak was in a bad place. Unless you haven't lived life, you can't help but feel compassion for her. Now, her life is so exposed because of who she is. Certainly, she has lived a public life but, not one that has made her name household. She does not deserve the attention that she is getting at this point. It is just terrible and unnecessary. We can only hope for a speedy and fair resolution to all of this. Certainly, the media fiasco has done a lot of damage already. I just hope that there isn't some junior prosecutor working this case. You know, some kid just out of school looking to safe the world. The legal system in this country leaves a lot to desire. On top of that, there is the possibility that military law could be involved. Of course, she is an officer so it will probably be used to protect her from civilian law. It's all very unfortunate. I think NASA has a PR crisis on it's hands. I can't feel sorry for Nowak, she made her choices. Once she has paid any debt to society that might come her way, she still has a future in the public eye. I do hope to see her on Celebrity Boxing one day, taking-on Tonya Harding.
