The LX-10 is a fairly old model.  It was the bargain SCT during the heyday of the original LX-200.   Meade de-emphasized that product when they came out with the LX-90 a couple of years ago.  I don't know how long it's been since they freshened it up.  Although I've looked through a few very nice Meades, I think I go with the majority of opinion that the Celestron optics are better on average.  I've got both an 8" and a 5" and couldn't imagine parting with either.

If it were my money I'd go with the Celestron 9.25. I've had my 8" Celestron for almost 19 years and the coatings are still good. I just put the OTA on the Losmandy GM-8 mount a month ago. I'm going to use it for CCD imaging someday.
