Thank you Kim. I had forgotten about the Geminids. I have seen them but it is tough getting people out the door at night in December. As for the Quatranids, it's hard to get ME out the door at night in January. As for this year's Perseid peak times, Alan MacRobert only mentions one peak at around noon on wednesday. I saw a graph of radio frequency meteors versus time and apparently there was a sharp narrow peak at 2 AM and a wide but shallow peak in the afternoon. Wednesday evening we were looking at the tail end of that second peak and the activity did decrease significantly by midnight. Sadly when Alpine and I were leaving at 1 AM we met a pair of guys comming in to look at the shower based on the after midnight myth that you mentioned. DT
