I've seen dozens from Utah, and most appear grey to the eye, red on emulsion-based film. Usually columns, curtains, or streamers. A few were vaguely greenish. Except for the great display of, what was it, 2002-ish? The last solar max. Every shade in the crayon box, and bright. Pulsating, exploding, incredible. I agree with Erik, after seeing a few, you can tell if it's the real deal. On Mon, Jun 18, 2012 at 5:31 PM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:
The only aurora's I have seen are either pink or green and they have always been pretty obvious.
