Does not look like there will be a Sun party at SPOC (too little interest) but if I get to SPOC early enough on public star party evenings I've been know to do a bit of impromptu Sun viewing. patrick On 09 Jul 2015, at 18:12, Terry Fowler <terryrfowler@gmail.com> wrote:
We haven't closed escrow on a house in Mt. Pleasant yet, but if we do I'd be VERY interested in SPOCing the sun! I think my backyard would do nicely for the Perseids though.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your input but considering you were the only one to express interest I guess there's not much interest.
Cheers,

Patrick,
In terms of Sun viewing with the Bogdan: Yeah, if there was an afternoon scheduled that fit in with work or a weekend I would show up and I'd bring my own solar scope for viewing when the Bogdan is taken up.
In terms of the Perseids, at new moon I am out in the field anyway observing so I usually will take a break and sit back and watch for some. Not something I will go out of the way for. Also depends on the weather of course.
