Patrick, I look at the SOHO web site about everyday and the sunspots are the best I have seen in 2 years. I looked at them today with my binoculars and Bader filter. They looked great. The sun has been the most active the past three weeks than I have seen since 2008. I think we finally can say we are coming out the very long minimum. I have not seen them yet but SpaceWeather.Com is reporting a big group of sunspots. Here's an image from their page:

Maybe if the Sun really is going to start up again I may finally get some sort of H-alpha scope.
