Hi Deloy, It must be because CERN is so much more powerful and our funding is running out. But I thought Fermilab was going to check on CERN's finding about supposedly faster-than-light neutrinos. I don't get it. -- Thanks, Joe ________________________________ From: D P Pierce <starsbirdsglyphs@gmail.com> To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, November 23, 2011 10:53 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Fermilab accelerator shutdown Just watched Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe. Great explanation of string theory! It talked in one place about related work being done at Fermilab. At the end of the show it noted the accelerator at Fermilab had been shutdown. I went online to find out more. September 30th was its last day but I couldn't find an explanation as to why. Anybody know?
