[Utah-astronomy] Science and the media

I just learned that the Salt Lake Tribune has eliminated their science section. I'm told their science writer was on vacation and received a call saying the "Science beat" has been eliminated from the paper. I find this a distressing development. No doubt they'll continue to cover the latest from Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan's next few stints in rehab and other equally important news.
