Very cool - I've never experienced that, they are probably rather rare I imagine (especially the ones the don't kill you ;) )/R From: Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, April 3, 2017 7:17 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Point meteor this morning I stepped out behind my shop at 5:30 this morning, looked up at the Summer Triangle, and saw a nice, bright "point" meteor flash, estimated at first magnitude, it was at least as bright as Vega. Point meteors are those that are traveling directly toward the observer, so instead of a streak, you only see a flash. Pretty cool. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Send messages to the list to Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com The Utah-Astronomy mailing list is not affiliated with any astronomy club.
