It was not an issue for my Mac with OS X Tiger. I do the regular system and security updates. I have been setting up an old PC Laptop runnig XP, in my observatory, that has not been on the internet for years. It was way behind as far as daylight savings time updates. Mac is so much better protected from viruses and worms than PC's. Before the PC at SPOC was replaced, they had a lot of issues from being connected to the internet. PC's have always seemed to have a kind of planned obsolescence. Erik Eric,

The NIST timeserver FAQ for pre-Tiger Mac OS versions. It lists several time sychronization programs for the Mac. I'm sure several will been updated to Tiger. http://tf.nist.gov/service/pdf/macintosh.pdf
