Here are a few lists of good sites: Of course the SLAS site: http://slas.us/starpartymaps.asp The Dark Sky Finder site: http://www.jshine.net/astronomy/dark_sky/ This site overlays the dark sky map of the US on to google maps and has observing sites world wide And I hope Jay doesn't mind me giving out his sites. Though most are more southerly than the Ogden area: Jay's Astronomical Observing Locations - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z_H4LiF8_ssQ.kf5m7Yb1IqTY&usp=shari ng And finally as Joel said the Weber County North Fork Park http://darksky.org/idsp/parks/northforkpark/ Hope this helps Jamie B "So, here's the plan: The next time we send someone to space, upon their return, everyone wear ape suits!" _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Send messages to the list to Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com The Utah-Astronomy mailing list is not affiliated with any astronomy club. I am just getting back into astronomy and looking for a good place to take my telescope during the winter. I normally go to Antelope Island since I am just a few minutes from there. The gate closes at 6pm for winter hours now so I was hoping there would be a few suggestions from folks on this list.
