Ok, totally off topic but since we are telling fun animal stores I'll mention that several years ago I was working on my glider license over the Heber Valley. I was in a thermal feeling pretty cocky about how much altitude I was gaining when my instructor pointed down and to the left. There circling below us was a hawk soaring in the same thermal. It didn't take him long to catch up with me and then he just sort of stopped climbing just off my left side. I swear he was looking at me with a look something like "Amateur!". And then with a slight flap of his wings he continued in his climb leaving me (and my chuckling instructor) far below as he disappeared high above us. patrick :) Sent from my iPad On Aug 31, 2011, at 16:10, Troy Davidson <clandaith@gmail.com> wrote:
I was actually driving back from Lakeside one night, on the long road that leads to the freeway, and had an owl swoop down and 'lead' my truck for a while. It just coasted in front of my truck for a bit and then flew off to the right. That was very cool to see.
