The report is so technical that it's hard to read. To me, the most interesting part is this, at the conclusion: "We find a sample of five 'red' spirals with red MIR and (NUV-r) colors, which are inconsistent with high levels of star formation but consistent with high levels of alien waste heat. Significant internal extinction would be a satisfactory natural explanation for these colors, but until that is ruled out these galaxies are some of the best candidates for K3's in our search to date." MIR is mid-infrared emissions. I assume NUV-r is near ultraviolet minus red. K3-s are the name for supposed galaxy-spanning supercivilizations.
