A tent??? Don't like sleeping under the stars? Quoting Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com>:
Sunset seen FROM Twin Peaks is terrific, too!
Although I've never been up there in January, I have been up there in September. If you are physically able, I highly recommend any and all of the Wasatch front peaks with public trails. And the valley seen from up there at night is breathtaking if you pack up a tent and sleeping bag. I did an overnighter using a one-man tent years ago, taking an R/C sailplane. As it turns out, the terrain was too rocky near the peak for me to risk the plane, but the scenery was more than adequate compensation.
Today I often set up a telescope or large binocular in my front yard, and scan the ridge lines and alpine valleys up there. Sometimes I spot hikers and wildlife.
I'm thinking of a Wasatch front hike later this summer- anybody else possibly interested?

A minor add to the gallery - a quick snap while driving around town today of sunset on the Big Cottonwood Twin Peaks and Storm Mtn. Nothing great. -
