Beautiful photo, Dave. I too went out last night to try and see the comet in the eyepiece of my 10" SCT. I have only (barely) seen it through long exposure photography up to now. Once I found it I was amazed at how beautiful it was. The tail fans out nicely, and seemed to be concentrated at the edges, making it appear almost like a forked tongue.
