Great hoaxes Patrick. I remember, perhaps in the mid-1980's that the spaghetti harvest hoax was revived on one of the network news programs. We had a good one back in Boston 20 years ago. There's an anonymous bump of a mountain near Boston called the Great Blue Hill. One of the TV reporters filed a report that it was erupting (the closest real volcano is probably in Iceland) and caused a fair degree of panic. The reporter lost his job for that one.
