Neat Mars image! I've always loved the old sc-fi views too. You can thank Chesley Bonestell for the Hollywood Moon look, Joe.
And I do, too. ;o)
Bonestell was a big reason I got interested in astronomy. He knew how to light a fire, visually.
I've always found this 2007 image of Mars with part of ESA's Rosetta spacecraft in the foreground to be reminiscent of Bonestell's work: http://sci.esa.int/science-e/www/object/index.cfm?fobjectid=40718 patrick _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com
