Coincidentally, my late father served at Lackland AFB in the late '50's. Of course, then the front-line fighter was still the P-51 Mustang. I still remember leafing-through his unit yearbooks. Sadly, his second-wife got them after his death, and there is no knowing where they are today. She died only a year after he did, decades ago. What a loss.
