Thanks to all who let me know their opinions. I'm really appreciative. Best wishes, Joe --- On Mon, 11/15/10, M Wilson <astro_outwest@yahoo.com> wrote:

I checked some of the other D-News blogs and there's a number of them that have few responses. The ones that garnered the most usually had to do with sports.

In all honesty Joe, I don't read it very often. I should bookmark it and add it to my list of 'must-read' sites, because every time I do read it, I do enjoy it and get at least 1 bit of knowledge out of it. I don't have it in my list of sites, because frankly, I already spend an hour or so just going through my email, catching up on the news, etc before work...
That said, I do think that you should keep writing. I know it seems to be a thankless job with little feedback, but that's kinda the nature of blogging--especially with a site having a comment engine like the Dnews site--but trust that your articles are enjoyed by a good percentage of people. I'm sure you can access some sort of site stats that'd give you a little clearer picture of where visitors are coming from.

Joe, I enjoy reading your blog and hope you will keep doing it. One problem about comments is that the Deseret News requires a lots of red tape to respond. I have had to go through the fire drill more than once to post a comment.

Hi all on the UtahAstronomy list, I have been writing an astronomy blog, gratis, for almost two years and I would like you to respond to me privately with your opinion about it. My email is josephmbauman@yahoo.com. It's written for the Utah astronomical community, yet I have received very little commentary, either on the Deseret News blog site or through emails to UtahAstronomy. Is it too long to bother reading? Are the subjects not interesting? I am thinking about dropping it, if it's not useful or at least interesting to the state's astronomers. Please let me know your honest opinion, and I won't hold it against you at all whatever it is. If there is no or little response to this request, that's an indication too. Thank you, Joe
