Ann, I wish you could give that same presentation to a group of public school science teachers. Most of the my daughter's teachers seem burned-out, distant, detached and no longer passionate about their work. Overworked, underpaid, the effectiveness level of public school science education isnt's what it used to be, as I noticed at the science fair this year. The students keenly interested in science would still be interested even if they received no public science instruction at all. But the ranks are not swelling. I wish I currently had the time to give presentations myself, as I did some years ago. Keep up the good work- you are one of the passionate, enthusiastic ones- hopefully it can be "contagious".
