But isn't just about every image processed in some way these days? Even my data images need to have darks and flats applied. And the folks on the list that do pretty pictures can probably attest to the hours they spend working their original, raw images to make them into the veritable works of art we all like to see. patrick On 03 Aug 2013, at 12:31 , Jamie Bradley wrote:
That looks awesome, I can't wait to see it. But I do agree with some of the comments, it is a matter of interpretation to whether or not it is CGI. Not that that is a bad thing, but while the pictures are real, the final image or composite is still generated by the computer, hence the name CGI - Computer Generated Image. But again in spite of that it is still a beautiful one of a kind work and I will gladly go and watch and marvel the wonders and beauty of our universe. Here is a short story and a 2.5-minute video trailer for the upcoming 2014 movie "Saturn's Rings". The story includes an explanation of how it was made from existing space photography. It was not made with computer-generated graphics.
The video is at double HD resolution so play it full screen.
Enjoy.
