Well, that was fun. After some confusion about exactly where to go we decided to go with Patrick's latest posting. He had the centerline going through Bountiful. Another site had the centerline going through the Capitol. We made the right choice. Also present were George Van Komen, Brent Watson, Joe Bauman and late arriving Kurt Fisher. Joe took pictures. Hopefully he got something. Kurt had binoculars with solar filters, the rest of us brought telescopes. Either my watch runs about 20 seconds fast of the ISS showed up20 seconds late but all of a sudden there is was, a pure black silhouette against (for me) a green Sun. As it turns out we had the perfect location. The ISS went right through the center of the Sun. It was quick but we could easily see the solar panels and the central core of the space station. I gave out a whoop when it was over. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is also, btw, some decent sunspot activity. A nice big new sunspot is rotating into view. Weather permitting you all may want to come out and see it tomorrow. Thanks to Patrick we were in the right spot. Sig On Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 11:13 AM, Siegfried Jachmann <siegfried@jachmann.org

Brent, do you have a time for the crossing at the capitol?

Thank you, Brent. What is a secondary crossing?

Wow, the path has moved WAY south - down south of St. George. A secondary pass is now going through downtown Salt Lake. I think I'm not going to chase this one. Here is the link again:

Happy to help.
I'll get it posted provided they issue it before I leave the house.
