They convert a variety of off-the-shelf telescopes into beautiful binoscopes, as well as manufacture mounts and piers. All custom components are CNC machined aluminum. The rear optical group uses three mirrors rather than prisms, and provides a right-side-up but reversed left-right image. 1.25" helical focusers are at 90 degrees for comfortable extended viewing of the night sky. Unlike typical giant binoculars, Astromeccanica binoscopes are designed for high magnification- up to 200x. This is possible due to the use of two small collimation knobs conveniently located under the diagonals. This provides the horizontal and vertical collimation adjustment necessary to compensate for microscopic shift when eyepieces are rotated to focus, or when changes in IPD are made. So collimation can always be perfectly maintained using this unique feature. Astromeccanica binoscopes comes in a variety of configurations, from 80mm to 150mm, using achromatic, apochromatic, or catadriotic designs. This particular model uses a selected pair of Chinese-made Ziel 120mm (about 5"!) achromatic refractors, which provides the greatest amount of aperture at the lowest price- making it a perfect fit in the BigBinoculars.com product line-up. Recommended range is 20x-200x. Includes a beautifully machined fork mount and pier, Oberwerk 10mm FMC oculars (60x), and a matching 6x30mm finderscope.
