Oh, and I split Epsilon Lyra in my 14 inch dob at 75x and that is confirmed by Mat, Mark Shelton, and Jorge G. who are on this list. Jorge and I got it down to 61x but Mat couldn't get a line for him to call it split so I'll settle for the 75x as a clean split since everyone saw it. Your welcome to come out later this month and we can try this again if you want to see it for yourself. The real question is once I get the Zambuto Mirror in a few months, how low can that go!? Wonderful night but the seeing was okay, and I did something I haven't done in about 5 years, observe without sketching a single item (that is like an astro-photographer observing without taking a picture). You can read about the night in detail if you want at my blog and the others can fill in. It does seem each time out I am having a mini adventure. My adventure last night is losing or misplacing my 27mm Panoptic cover (the cover works for either end). So I am going to go unload in a minute and if I don't find it, I will need to replace it. I know there is a place online I can order caps but does anyone have any local suggestions?

So how was it? There were a lot of clouds but they seemed to be clearing. Transparency wasn't forecast to be that great though.

Mark;
The Pit-N-Pole it is. I don't know if you know where that is or not. If you don't know, call me at 801-699-2233 or 801-253-8861 and we can meet somewhere along Redwood Road so you can follow me out. I'm planning on being at the Pit at 7:00. I'll be at Redwood Road and Bangerter around 6:15 or so.

Mat and I are going to get out observing on Friday. I'm open for Pit n Pole or for Lakeside. If not we might try west of the Pit area. Any takers want to join us at one or the other locations? Just curious.
