It would be a blast to design a school, or any other building with a concept like that. In school I designed a solar house that had more to do with the philosophical and astronomical significance of the sun than with the energy efficiency, and that was fun. The closest I've got in my career was to help design some of the elements at the Gallivan Center. We had planned a solar system model that would cover the whole state, with the sun (to scale, of course) located at the plaza, but that was one element we weren't able to include in the final design. As I recall we were going to place the relative position of Pluto just outside St. George and indicate the other planets at various places on I15 and I80. Maybe that project died because we didn't plan to show the sun on either Capitol Hill or Temple Square. And that reminds me of...never mind.
