Tribute to Apollo 11

For a number of years I’ve been promoting the July 20th Apollo 11 Moonwalk anniversary to become a nonpaid federal Holiday, similar in legal status to Flag Day. Space Exploration Day could become a popular holiday for families and communities. It is backed by four U.S. Presidential Proclamations. One of the proposed family traditions for the proposed holiday is to drink Tang, the breakfast drink of the Apollo Program astronauts. Meteorite

Just Curious if anyone else saw the meteorite Friday night after the Star Party? Rob and I were the last ones at Wheeler Farm packing up. It went from strait up, down through the Big Dipper to the North West, it was fast about 1/2 sec bright yellow-white streak about 8 magnitude in the middle with a little flash at the end. Very Cool to see. SLAS Star-b-q

Does anyone have Dale Wilson's email for BBQ orders for the Star-B-Q? I know Patrick sent it out, but I'm darned if I can find it now. Kelly and I will be there. I'm trying to decide whether to bring the Cave, RV-6, or C-90 on Edmund mount for the vintage telescope show. The state of my back that day will probably determine which, lol.

ISS pass this morning

Saw a nice ISS pass this morning just before 5 AM. It didn't culminate very high, maybe 25-30 degrees, but was very bright and visible a good long time. Watched it pass under Polaris.

green river daytime fireball

FWIW, Just had a woman (from California) call me all excited to tell me she spotted a daytime fireball over the green river today. I suggested she report it to the american meteor society (they have a website - amsmeteors.org ), but was wondering if that's the best place to report such sightings...? /R
