I enjoyed your observing report. I wish I had stayed longer, but for some reason I just felt too tired to hang around--the cloudiness kind of discouraged me, too. I imagine if it had been a cloudless night, I would have taken some Mountain Dew or something to fight the sleepiness I was feeling. Anyway, I'll cross my fingers that we'll have a few new moons this year without cloud cover. It seems uncanny that nights with bright moonlight are so frequently clear, but dark nights are cloudy. I guess, though, that it shouldn't seem strange given the mathematical odds. Anyway, thanks again for you interesting report. Mike Bailey

Gravel Quarry changes

I was there last night with Gary Thompson. The Brown's Canyon Road leading into the place has construction going on. You may have to stop and wait for equiptment on the 4.2 mile stretch. Also the Harper sign has been replace with one that says Z-ROCK at the last turnoff so be on the look out for that. Roger Heden and I will also be there tonight.
