Comet goes into the Sun

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught a comet passing directly in front of the Sun, the first time this has ever been seen. Wide Field Milky Way Image from ALCON

Hi again all. Here is another wide field image of the Milky Way galaxy above a line of scopes that were participating in a private star party at Rainbow Point in Bryce Canyon National Park. The party was part of the Astronomical League conference known as ALCON. The Milky Way was incredible from the site and there was essentially no light pollution. The skies at Bryce Canyon are among the darkest in the lower 48 states. This is a single 30 second exposure from my D700 camera. A Different Kind of Image... for me! Milky Way and Taillight Glow

Hello again everyone. I wanted to show a different image that was taken at Rainbow Point during ALCON. I accidentally had a frame going when a cars taillights turned on. I didn't like it at the time, but the effect in the image was really cool. Take a look at the Milky Way image on my website. Wow those skies were dark!
