OT: Firefox and Windows Explorer help

I apologize for bothering this list, but I don't' know anyone else as knowledgeable as this group who might be able to help me. A few months ago I had to replace my computer and I have had a nagging problem with my newer computer that I never had with my old one. I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere. I use only Mozilla Firefox for all of my internet use, except email. I am constantly barraged with Explorer pop-up windows even when I'm using Firefox. I've tried disabling Explorer altogether, but without success. Setting Explorer's pop-up blocker to "high" just isn't working. How can I get rid of Bill Gates et. al. constant hacking into my internet use, especially from Mozilla? Any ideas would be appreciated. Kim

Hi Kim, I use multiple apps to remove spyware and malware, because no single spyware remover finds all infections. I won't post any links, but you can google each name and find their websites. These are all free. HiJackThis - It finds alot of boot loader, registry and BHO infections. Just be careful what you remove, because it does display many needed processes that should not be removed. Know what you are removing before doing so. Spybot - Great tool for removing spyware and malware. Probably the most comprehensive of all the ones I am listing. MalwareBytes - There is a version you can pay for, but the free version does a stand up job in finding infections other apps won't. ComboFix - It will find and remove rootkits that other system cleaners do not even detect. Remember to always run the updates to these apps before running the scans. Also, I always run my anti-virus scan after running these other scans. I run McAfee. And before I forget... Zone Alarm - free firewall software. Much better than the Windows firewall and it is free, although you can pay for the full version. And last... do not forget to install all Microsoft security patches. Hope this helps, Jon

NASA releases new Image from Hubble of ARP 273

To celebrate the Hubble Telescopes 21st anniversary of its deployment into space on April 24th, NASA released this press release with a new wonderful image found here at http://www.spacetelescope.org/news/heic1107/ Make sure you click on the picture to get the full affect of these two interacting and in the case of UGC 1813, weirdly shaped, and interacting pair of galaxies.
