Dob Parts

Hello all, I am in the process of rounding up parts for a Dob. I will be making a 13" telescope some time in the near future. Looking for Truss material. connectors for the truss etc. etc. Also looking for a spider. Please let me know if you have some parts that you are not going to use and need a new home. Thanks Mark

Bill Kelley

My wife and I spoke with Lois this morning about services for Bill. Bill's remains will be (or have been) cremated and Lois is planning to have a service at the end of February or the first part of March. I'm sure that others on this list will be in touch with Lois, but as I learn more information I'll let y'all know. Teddi and I will be driving to Arizona for the service and a car pool may be possible if anyone else is planning to go. Lois didn't ask me to pass this on, but she told me that their experiences with SLAS and the friends that they made here in Utah were most cherished. I let her know that those of us who knew Bill have been swapping stories and that he is well remembered. Kim

Larry Holmes

Thought some of you should know this. My father went skiing with Rodger Fry yesterday. Had a great half of a day, he said he was skiing better than he had in a number of years. After taking a break (Rodger step in if I'm incorrect here), he got whacked by the lift while standing in line. When he hit the ground, he broke his right hip. It is a clean break, right through the top of the femur. So he is getting a new hip this morning. They are prepping him for surgery right now, it'll probably be at least four hours from now before I have any more information. Nice night tonight. Looking at my observing log for the last ten sessions I see temperatures when I opened the observatory were: -12 -1 -2 -1 -10 -10 -5 -5 -2 -1 But tonight's entry reads a comparatively balmy +3. Heat wave... patrick
