Off list again

Hi gang, I'm back on the "no mail" option for list messages for a while. Still checking email at my Yahoo address, which is the address I use for official SLAS correspondence. I'll try to get back on as we approach summer and I get more time to sit on my butt in front of this box. I'm just on too many lists right now so I have to pare it down to the activites that I actually have time to pursue- which aren't many these days darnit. Later!

Last evening the Moon passed first quarter. It should be slightly past 1st quarter and visible - assuming the current storm low clears. When the Moon is at first quarter near its 90 degree phase angle, it is in it's Earth-trailing position. The Moon is within 6 degrees of the ecliptic. Thus, when you look at the first quarter Moon it is marking the approximate location of the trailing path that the Earth follows in its revolution around the Sun. EP storage cases - Howell's Photos going out of business sale

Howell's Photo on 200 South between 2nd and 3rd West in SLC is going out of business (after 50 years) at the end of the month. I was in there buying some other camera goods and noticed that they have 6 high quality steel camera cases with high density foam for sale for under a $100. All are of good size. The promise of spring

Forget about the calendar. I saw two signs that spring is upon us. The first was a group of very fast motorcycles racing up foothill drive. They were still wearing leather but it's a sign the Harley's and tanktops will be here soon. Also a neighbor actually fired up his propane grill and cooked a steak on it. Hi Tom Suggestion around full moons when there are slight showers have a camera, WIDE angle lens and tripod ready you may get a 'moonbow' to photograph. The best ones are when the moon is just above the horizon giving the biggest arc. have fun Rob
