RE: [USR-TC] xp users on hiper chassis cant surf amazon, google, ebay and msn
check your MTU setting - make sure your Radius server isn't sending anything like "Framed-MTU", or if it is, make sure that it's set to 1500. That's my first guess. -----Original Message----- From: tarvid [mailto:tarvid@ls.net] Sent: Wednesday, July 16, 2003 2:19 PM To: usr-tc@lists.xmission.com Subject: [USR-TC] xp users on hiper chassis cant surf amazon, google, ebay and msn swapped out old quad chassis for hiper and everything looks great except that xp users can't surf certain sites such as ebay, google and msn. These sites work flawlessly on Win 9x. A quick look with tcpdump shows the remote site sending packets and backing off with no response from the XP client. Any hints? From memory, there is also a setting for a ms specific compression..... unfortunately, I can't remeber the specific name.... but it was in the same box as the "lcp options" type check box.....

There are three options LCP extensions Software compression something about multilink for single connections Tried them all with software and hardware compression on and off with no change. Anybody willing to take a look? Jim Tarvid

Following up on MTU on two boxes here Windows XP is 1472 Windows 98 is 548 98 works XP doesn't Router and USR are set to 1500 any guesses where to jump next? Jim Tarvid
Thanks everyone. It was RADIUS. The quad chassis does not respond to the MTU, the hiper does The fix - sh-2.05b# diff users users.org 173c173 < Framed-MTU = 1500, ---
Framed-MTU = 576,
Jim Tarvid I don't know why but I love these old beasts. Taking quotes from people on doing the software maintenance on one chassis - four PRIs. On Wednesday 16 July 2003 20:00, tarvid wrote:
