Is there any way to get v.92 stats from the TC? I'm interested in seeing if a customer is currently connected at v.92 and if MOH is active and for how long. Mike Wilker Director of Network Operations Tiger Communications & Local Link
Hi. I wasn't going to answer, since I didn't have any really good information to add, but I see zero other replies and I didn't want you to take it personally. :-) We've downloaded a demo of Total Scrutinizer. The version we have doesn't seem to know about V.92 specifically, but it does tell us "V.90 Not Detected" when there are connection rates of 49,333 - so that we figure these must be V.92 connections. It's far from ideal, but it's something. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Wilker To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Friday, May 09, 2003 4:20 PM Subject: [USR-TC] v.92 stats Is there any way to get v.92 stats from the TC? Thanks for the reply. One thought I have is that there's also the possibility of those connections being x2. Does anyone else have any ideas, or info on how they evaluate v.92 connections on their TCs? Perhaps, but that's what it shows on connections we know are V.92 as well. As far as I know, X2 and V.90 connections are reported by Total Scrutinizer as X2 or V.90, so a 40K+ Connection with "V.90 Not Detected" seems to be V.92.... However, it doesn't tell MOH Duration or anything else as far as I know. Really, the reporting tools for Total Control are relatively non-existent. By comparison, we used to run Equinox Multi-Serial cards and external ISDN Modems, and Windows NT's RAS tools could reports modem speeds, connection durations, throughput in CPS, etc, etc, etc. Frankly, I'm surprised there isn't much better tools readily available. -Todd Chamberlain ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Wilker To: Discussion relating to the 3Com/US Robotics Total Control modemsystems. Hey guys, The latest TS beta does indicate V.92/V.44 connections. You can download and overwrite your current Total Scrutinizer exe with the one found at http://www.totalscrutinizer.com/downloads/beta157/totalscrutinizer.exe should you care to try it out. Unfortunately, MOH features are not detected with TS. -- Adam Barnhill Support Engineer, TotallyFabricated.com Information Technology Engineer, Poplar Bluff Internet, Inc. / Semo.net P.O.
