Redirects based on Radius settings
Hello, We currently run TC Hiper cards and use 3Com Security/Accounting Server 6.0.8 for radius. I was wondering if the gurus of this list of have tried the following before. I am trying to make it so if a user is flagged somehow in the database he will only be able to go to one website. I am wanting to make it so customers who have been shut off for non payment, can get redirected to a website to make the payment after hours and any time our support office is close. Also, would like to make it so if they are not in our radius DB at all, they get redirected to a place to sign up for our service live. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know. Thanks, Mark Mitchell Inwave Internet Inc.
Assign a filter to those flagged customers based off their radius profile that restricts the user(s) to a webpage while they are "flagged". I don't really understand the second question....how are they going to be on your nas if they aren't in your DB? Sounds like a security issue. I have wanted to implement something like this as well. The problem is, a filter will cause all web pages to come up blank. Unless the user knows to go to your payment/signup web page address, they aren't going to see anything. What I think is needed is a tunnel set up by on the connection -- by the TC -- that forces all traffic through a specific router or server. That router or server can then intercept all port 80 traffic and respond to it with the payment/signup page in question. I know it can be done, but I, too, don't know how to do it and have not yet devoted the time I need to figuring out how to do it. If you use your own dialup client software versus a regular Windows dialup client you can pop up a PPP message indicating what they need to do. With a regular windows dialer the only way they could see any sort of message would be if they enabled a terminal windows as they were dialing up. Another thought.... I believe we did this type of thing a long time ago utilizing l2tp. Customers would dialin, be assigned the specific filter based on their radius profile, that filter would redirect them to a l2tp server, the l2tp server would redirect them to whatever webpage we specified based on their radius profile. Send radius USR-ATTRIBUTE Primary-DNS-Server (0x900F) and Secondary-DNS-Server (0x9010) ip address of dns server which resolvs any hostname to only one ip (ip of webserver). Configure filter to permit that user only to open that webpage and access only that dns server. Mark Mitchell wrote:
