RE: [USR-TC] Strange DSP NAC activity
If it were me, and the NAC is running at all, I'd try to restore defaults and then update the code. Not sure if it was DSP, ARC, or NMC, but I recall one software update for something along the way fixed a reboot problem with something. Worth a try. If you get really frustrated, you could always send it to me. If I find that it doesn't work, I can throw it away for you. Of course, if I can get it working, you'll never hear from me again! :-) - Joel -----Original Message----- From: Lee Terrell [mailto:leet@directcon.net] Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 9:15 PM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [USR-TC] Strange DSP NAC activity Well, I now have all 14 DSPs split between the 2 HiperARCs just for an initial configuration, the the suspect DSP NAC is now resetting itself in slots 11-14, so that's all of them. I am now guessing it's a faulty NAC since I've been able to try other NACs in the slot and get a PRI up successfully. Just for mention, the card in question is hardware version 0.54.0 with software version 2.0.51 in case someone knows any tricks to try, but I really doubt there will be any fixes I can try since 6 other NACs are the same version and they all run normally. -Lee Lee Terrell wrote:
I'm digging deeper into the configuration now. It seems that slots 1-10 at statically assigned to one HiperARC and slots 11-14 aren't assigned anywhere, statically or dynamically.
The chassis does have 2 130A power supplies, but I only have one plugged in for now.
If the last for slots aren't assigned at all, would that account for a possible faulty DSP NAC not resetting periodically in slots 11-14? I'm printing out some pdf file now to read some more. This is my first crack at a unit with multiple ARCs and power supplies.
I should be a little better educated when I get through a few of these chapters. Thanks for the initial pointers on what to look for.
