After changing to the TC boxes (V92 with hiperdsps) from patton ras's. The problem started. Not even sure where to start trouble shooting this one..
First step.. what does radius show as a disconnect reason? User request or dropped carrier? That will at least let you know if it was a 'clean' disconnect. Did he run any kind of TCP optimizer (drtcp) to adjust tcp packet sizes? There is/was a historical problem with high rate UDP packets and TC gear (the oft referred to quake-lag) on Netservers and early HiperARCs. Not sure if that was ever resolved. Find out when this person gets online and watch the modem error rates. His modem may not like the v.92 you are running or vice versa. Modems typically drop after so many BLERS, or if the carrier is down for X ms. Watch TCM and go from there. Totalscrutinizer(.com) has software that can show this type of info much better than TCM (although TCM will work... you just gotta set it up to monitor the correct values). Best bet is to send them a new $10 winmodem that you know works with your gear. Lucent/Agere/Intel seem to be the crow favorites. -- Paul Farber Farber Technology farber@admin.f-tech.net Ph 570-628-5303 Fax 570-628-5545 On Wed, 9 Apr 2003, Jayson Antillon wrote:
