We have inherited a couple of TotalControl RAS chassis, but not the console cables. We have tried to make some using a number of 'specs' we found on the net for them - RJ45 to DB9 null modem cables - and while I get a display, I have no keyboard control - so apparently they are incorrect 'specs'. Can anyone provide working specs for the required console cable? Or know of somewhere we can go to purchase one? Chris Stone, MCSE AxisInternet, Inc. www.axint.net
Chris, Verify that cable with several different NIC/NAK sets. I found that my custom cable works fine on 9 out of 10 cards and that even though the NICs are not bad, they do not function properly with a console connection. I have no "official" cables to test the unresponsive NICs. Just a thought. -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Chris Stone Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 6:44 PM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [USR-TC] TotalControl console cables We have inherited a couple of TotalControl RAS chassis, but not the console cables. Yep - tried the cables we made on 3 cards all with identical results, so apparently we've not got something right. And I know for a fact that at least one of the chassis and 2 of the cards were all working fine when the power was turned off on them... -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+cstone=axint.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+cstone=axint.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Adam Barnhill Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 5:49 PM To: 'Discussion relating to the 3Com/US Robotics Total Controlmodemsystems.'
